Zimbabwe: Mugabe Rejects Call for Resignation on Live TV

Underfire Zimbabwe's Leader Robert Mugabe has publicly rejected calls for his resignation on national TV.

In the interview that was aired live on Sunday , Mugabe suggested that he is aware of concerns but made no mention of his expected resignation but strong condemn the house arrest imposed on him by the Zimbabwe army.

Mugabe added that claimed that "the overwhelming calls to have him step down do not threaten the country's constitution or his authority as supreme commander and president".

Robert Mugabe's own ruling African National Union — Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) party has fired him, Mugabe, who is 93, is still insisting that he will represent the faction at an upcoming December congress.
