The ruling party in Zimbabwe, The Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriot Front (ZANU PF) will on Tuesday start the impeachment proceedings against the country's underfire President Robert Mugabe, according to the party's official.
In an earlier sitting of the party's top members, 230 members endorsed the move to impeach the 93-years-old president who show no sign of willingly leaving the seat of power following the expiration of a deadline for him to step down.
ZANU PF committee on Sunday relieved the 93-year-old Mugabe from the post of the party's first secretary and gave the President a deadline of Monday noon to stepdown but Mugabe however refuse to stepdown.
Last week the military took control of the National TV station in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe and placing him under house arrest
