A new design fixed wing unmanned aircraft was unveiled by UAV Factory, an unmanned Vehicles specialist at the Milipol exhibition in Paris. This new unmanned aircraft, the Penguin unmanned aircraft system was designed for Professional and tactical use.
UAV Factory is a well known UAV specialist and they have supplied 43 countries over 165 airframes since they went commercial in 2012. Their aircraft hold the world flight endurance record for small UAV class aircraft at 54.4hours.
At the Milipol exhibition, they unveiled the Penguin C long endurance, long range unmanned aircraft system with a flight endurance of over 20 hours and operation range of 60/100km.
The entire system with 3 UAVs, operated by a crew of two fits in a minivan, and it can be assembled in less than an hour. It can take off and land without the use of a runway with its portable launch system and parachute recovery.
The UAV is equipped with advanced micro-gimbals developed by Octopus ISR system which gives the aircraft advanced observation, inspection and surveillance capabilities and also with day and nightime object tracking and small moving target indication.
