US State Department Clears $1 Billion in Sales to UK, Netherland.

       The UK and the US will be at the recieving end of a $1 Billion Military hardware deal after the deal was passed by the US State Department on Monday.

According to Defense Security Cooperation notices, the proposed deals were for;

• 2,747 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles, made by Oshkosh, and accessories worth $1.04 billion for the U.K., a NATO ally that continues to be “an important partner on critical foreign policy and defense issues.”

• 32 AN/AAR-57A(V)7 Common Missile Warning Systems and accessories worth $58.2 million, and made by BAE Systems, for the Netherlands. The systems will be employed on the Netherlands’ AH-64D Apache helicopters.
“This proposed sale will enhance the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by helping to improve the security of the Netherlands which has been, and continues to be an important force for political stability and economic progress in Europe,” the announcement reads. “It is vital to the U.S. national interest to assist the Netherlands to develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability
