Washington is yet again reportedly mulling sanctions against Pyongyang as part of its maximum pressure campaign despite plans for a summit between the leaders of the two nuclear armed state.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the US National Security Council met on Thursday to discuss potential sanctions against Pyongyang, military action and other ways forward.
The United States blamed the pariah state for hostile rhetorics employed in the process of dismantling its nuclear test site which led to their planned Summit at Singapore to be suspended. However, Trump still confirmed that he is ready if the North's leader contact him when he is truly ready for a meeting between the two states.
North Korea according to high ranked officials are however still open for talks with the United States and are making plans to contact the United States for a new arrangement for the two state to meet.

"We express our willingness to sit down face-to-face with the US and resolve issues anytime and in any format," North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Kye Gwan was quoted as saying by the Yonhap news agency.
According to Sputnik, "on Friday, The US and South Korean top diplomats agreed in a phone call to continue dialogue between Washington and Pyongyang"
US State Secretary Michael Pompeo and South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha had "in-depth discussions" on North Korea and their path forward, the ministry said, as quoted by the Yonhap news agency.
