More than 30 countries interested in Russia MiG-35

Russia could be making over $10 billion dollars from the export of its new MiG-35 advanced fighter jets, as it prepares to offer the aircraft commercially from next year.

According to Ilya Tarasenko, the Director General of Russian Aircraft Corp. MiG on Tuesday,  than 30 countries currently operating MiG-29 have shown interest in the new fighter jet in replacing their older MiG-29 or upgrading their existing fleet or to add up to their existing air assets.

Russia will also make more from maintenance contracts and post-warranty support  according to Tarasenko in an interview at the Dubai's air show.

The export target for the aircraft, which is currently undergoing tests, doesn’t include anticipated cash flow from related maintenance contracts and post-warranty support, Tarasenko said in an interview at the Dubai air show.

The aircraft which is still undergoing test has greater weapon load and reduced radar signature and also long range strike capabilites and this makes it ideal for middle east and some African countries.
