235 people were reported killed in a Mosque in the Egypt's Northern Sinai Peninsula after an explosion and gunfire on Friday.
15 of the attackers were killed by Egyptian military drones after the attack on the Al Rawdah Mosque, located at the western part of Arish, a city at the northern Sinai Peninsula.
According to Sputnik, "all the forces of the whole northern Sinai Peninsula have been mobilized in search of the attackers."
Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah al-sisi has vowed to respond with "brutal force" against militants, adding that "the army and police will avenge our martyrs and return security and stability with force in the coming short period."
The attackers detonated a bomb while worshippers were observing their prayers in the Mosque and followed it up with gunfire killing at least 235 people in the process and injuring many more. The death toll however is rising.
According to the province's security service, " radical militants had threatened representatives of the Sufism trend of Islam before bomb explosion in the mosque".
Three days mourning has been declared by authorities to mourn those who lost their lives in the attack and an emergency top-level security meeting has been summoned by the Egyptian President, Sisi, to discuss the deadly attack.
However, no group has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack but the Egyptian Security agency are has commenced a "vigorous seach" for the perpetrators of the attack.
