It was reported this afternoon by North Korean State Media that North Korea has released US student Otto Warmbier ''on humanitarian grounds''. This is coming two days after he was reported to hae fall into a coma while imprisoned in a labour camp.
Otto Warmbier a 22-year old student of the Uniersity of irginia has spent more than a year in North Korean detention after being arrested for stealing a politcal poster from a hotel and he was said to hae went through many dehumanising treatment under Kim Jong-Un's regime.
Otto Warmbier who was released on June 13,2017 is said to be in a very bad shape currently. According to report from his family. The New York Times reported a senior US official as saying the authorities recently recieed intelligence indicating warmbier was repeatedly beaten while in custody.
Howeer this is not the first time US citizen has been jailed by North Korea has many US has been jailed by the North for arious degrees of offences ranging from spying to trespassing and many other irreleant offences.
