China, have always dream of taking up more responsibility in world's affairs and ultimately taking up a leading role in the future;I guess the future starts now.
Ever since Donald Trump was sworn in as the president of the United States, there has been strings of controversial decisions from him but non is as delusional as the withdrawal of US out of the 2015 paris climate agreement.
There has been widespread international condemnation of President Trumps announcement that the US is withdrawing from the agreement. NATO, EU, Greenhouse, even countries far east have been expressing their dissatisfaction over the decision.
The US under Donald Trump has been seen taking less commitment in the world but on the other side of the world, China is seen taking more daring commitment on and making some significant improvement in arguable all areas.
China's early this year announced an ambitious initiative to generate economic prosperity by building a new silk road, a road that will cut across over 28 countries and will link Africa, Europe and Asia together (through a single road). The "One Road, One Belt" plan that envisions expanding trade links between Asia, Africa and Europe underpinned by billions of dollars in infrastructure investment.
This initiative will step China up to more dominant force in Asia, Europe and In Africa and when (if) completed will be a great economic asset to China as it will international cooperation giving China the opportunity of taking a leading role in the economic direction of the Asia, EU and Africa and more room in the economic affairs and direction of more countries in the world.
Also, with China's completion of its first indigenously built aircraft carrier, it shows the world the growing power of the chinese military and its intent of taking more role in global policing.
Considering all this, one cannot but wonder if this is the beginning of US decline and the rise of China to something bigger in the world?
